The Choice Neighborhoods Initiative (CNI) leverages public and private dollars to support locally driven strategies that address struggling neighborhoods with distressed public housing.
Bartram Village was one of only three sites nationwide to receive a Planning and Action Activity grant. This $1.3 million grant award includes $300,000 for planning and $1 million for physical community development or economic development projects that will accelerate transformation of the neighborhood.
The planning process, which just launched, will last 2 years. Then another year and a half is allowed for implementation of Action Activities, which will jumpstart the area's transformation.
